When Toby and I were contacted by Cincinnati Magazine back in October about being a part of their December issue, we were thrilled. For a magazine to contact us out of the blue and ask us to be a part of their publication is amazing, but this was especially cool considering that this particular issue includes their Best of the City picks for 2010. Knowing that they had seen our work and liked it enough to feature us was kind of surreal. To be honest, until I saw it in print today, I kept waiting to wake up from a really, really great daydream.

Seeing it in print today just reminds me of how far we’ve come in three years… And it takes me back to those early days where my own kids were my only models. Those poor kiddos have tolerated being photographed so well – I learned the technical side of photography with them in front of my camera and I am so grateful. Not only because of the thousands of images that I have, but because learning with them instilled in me a special way of connecting with my subjects and a real understanding of the importance of documenting my children’s lives. In fact, Noah is one of the kids they chose to be featured on our page of the magazine!

The bottom line for me is that whether it’s being with my kids or photographing others, I am so incredibly blessed to do what I love. Thanks to my wonderful clients, my fantastic family, and most importantly to my amazing husband and kids. I couldn’t do it without you.
